Ammonium Molybdate Dihydrate CP
CP grade ammonium molybdate is supplied for industrial chemical processing.
Ammonium Molybdate Dihydrate CP
(Chemically Pure grade) is a crystalline molybdenum salt primarily used as a reagent in laboratories and for industrial applications where a specific level of purity is required. It typically appears as white, slightly yellow, or greenish crystals or powder.
Primary Applications
Analytical Reagent: Used to detect and measure levels of phosphates, silicates, arsenates, and lead in aqueous solutions. In phosphate testing, it typically forms a characteristic “canary yellow” precipitate.
Agriculture: Serves as a source of molybdenum, an essential micronutrient for plants (especially legumes) to aid in nitrogen metabolism and enzyme activation.
Industrial Catalyst: Employed in the production of molybdenum metal, ceramics, and as a catalyst for desulfurization and dehydrogenation.
Corrosion Inhibition: Used in water systems to form protective films on metal surfaces.
Safety and Handling
Hazards: Generally not classified as a hazardous substance under standard regulations (EC No. 1272/2008), but it can be harmful to aquatic life.
Protection: Standard laboratory PPE is recommended, including nitrile gloves and eye protection.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry place to prevent degradation.
