Hygroscopy: It has a violent, exothermic reaction with water, releasing significant heat and turning into phosphoric acid.
Appearance: It typically appears as a white, odorless powder.
Acidity: As an acidic oxide, it forms a strongly acidic solution when dissolved in water.

Dehydrating Agent: Used in organic synthesis to convert primary amides into nitriles and to produce acid anhydrides from carboxylic acids.
Desiccant: Ideal for removing traces of moisture from gases and vacuum systems, though it can form a viscous coating that slows further drying.
Industrial Manufacturing: Used in the production of specialty glasses, pesticides, and polyphosphoric acid.

Corrosivity: It is extremely corrosive to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract.
Water Reactivity: Never pour water directly into the substance; it must be handled with extreme caution to prevent steam explosions and severe chemical burns.
