Description

Nikal thread lube is used for lubrication and protection of drilling threads.

Product Details
  • Composition: It contains pure nickel flake and a nearly inert solid in a high-quality aluminum complex base grease, which offers strong resistance to water wash-off.
  • Performance: The carrier of the compound volatilizes at high temperatures, depositing a nickel metallic plating on the threads to prevent metal-to-metal contact.
  • Temperature Range: It prevents seizure up to 1427°C (2600°F).
  • Key Benefit: It contains no copper, lead, or graphite, making it safe for use with ammonia, acetylene, and vinyl monomers, which can be unstable in the presence of copper. The absence of graphite also prevents carburization of stainless steel at temperatures exceeding 550°F (288°C), which could otherwise weaken the steel.
Typical Applications
Nikal Thread Lube is extensively used in industrial settings where high heat, pressure, and corrosive environments are common:
  • Refineries and chemical plants
  • Petrochemical and power generation facilities
  • Reactor bolts and manway studs
  • Heat exchangers and manifolds
  • Furnace hinges and burner tips
  • Pipe fittings
