1. Key Medical Applications
Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL): It is the standard treatment for newly diagnosed low-to-intermediate risk APL (often paired with tretinoin) and for cases that have relapsed or not responded to other chemotherapy.
Fusion protein, which is responsible for stopping blood cell development. This triggers the abnormal leukemia cells to either mature into normal cells (differentiation) or undergo programmed cell death (apoptosis).
Administration: Typically given as an intravenous infusion over 1–4 hours in a clinical setting.
