Diamond Gel
Diamond gel is used for drilling lubrication and core recovery in exploration.
Diamond Gel” is not a single, naturally occurring mineral but rather a proprietary name for various commercial products that often incorporate actual diamond powder or the mineral bentonite. These products are used in industries such as nail care, cosmetics, and industrial drilling/polishing.
Common “Diamond Gel” Products
Nail Enhancement Products: In the beauty industry, the term “Diamond Gel” is widely used for gel polishes or hard gel systems that are durable and provide a brilliant shine to the nails. Products like OPI’s Diamond Gel system or Lunamoon Diamond Gel are used to build, overlay, or sculpt natural nails, and they are typically cured under an LED or UV lamp. Some glitter versions, such as Crystal Clawz Diamond Gel Polish – Hidden Gem, contain glitter particles to achieve a gemstone-inspired sparkle.
Cosmetics and Skincare: Some anti-aging or skin-polishing gels, such as Vaadi Herbals Skin-Polishing Diamond Massage Gel or the Gemology Diamond Gel Mask, contain diamond powder (often called “Diamond Bhasma” in some formulations) as an active ingredient. The diamond particles help to gently exfoliate the skin, reflect light for a “soft-focus” effect that visibly reduces the appearance of wrinkles, and assist in skin detoxification and brightening.
Industrial Drilling and Polishing: In the energy, mining, and drilling industries, a product called Di-Corp Diamond Gel is a premium-grade bentonite product (a clay mineral) used as a drilling fluid additive. It functions as a viscosifier, lubricant, and fluid loss control agent, designed to disperse easily in fresh water and reduce waste.
Polishing Compounds: Alfa Chemistry Diamond Gel is a polishing product formulated with fine-quality diamond micropowder and high-performance polymers. It is ideal for automated and manual polishing of large, hard surfaces like metals, ceramics, and hardened steels, by performing controlled micro-abrasion.
Cleaning Solutions: Products such as Diamond Liquid Gel are marketed as all-purpose, multi-purpose cleaning solutions for use on laundry, dishes, floors, and cars.
