Common Applications
Laboratory & Histology: Widely used as a clearing agent to remove alcohol from tissue samples before paraffin embedding and as a solvent for removing immersion oil from microscope objectives.
Industrial Solvent: Used in the production of printing inks, rubber, leather, and adhesives.
Cleaning & Thinning: Highly effective for thinning oil-based paints, varnishes, and lacquers, and for cleaning equipment contaminated with epoxy or urethane.
Dentistry: Applied to dissolve gutta-percha during root canal treatments. 

Safety & Handling
Flammability: Highly flammable liquid and vapour; must be kept away from heat, sparks, and open flames.
Toxicity: Harmful if inhaled, swallowed, or absorbed through the skin. It can cause skin irritation, dizziness, and respiratory distress.
Protection: Always use in well-ventilated areas with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves and safety goggles.
