Palintest Chlorine DPD
Palintest chlorine DPD reagents are used for accurate water quality testing and monitoring.
Palintest Chlorine DPD refers to a range of reagents and test kits that use the DPD (N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) colorimetric method to accurately measure free and total chlorine levels in water. This is an internationally recognized standard method, widely used for monitoring water quality in pools, spas, and drinking water systems.
Product Details and Function
The DPD method involves adding specific DPD tablets to a water sample, which produces a pink coloration proportional to the chlorine concentration. The intensity of this color is then measured visually (using a comparator) or with a Palintest photometer for precise results.
Palintest DPD No. 1 Tablets: These tablets are used to measure free available chlorine, which is the active disinfectant in the water.
Palintest DPD No. 3 Tablets: When used after the DPD No. 1 tablet, these tablets induce a reaction with combined chlorine (chloramines), allowing for the measurement of total chlorine. The difference between the total and free chlorine measurements indicates the combined chlorine concentration.
