Description

High yield bentonite is supplied for environmental sealing civil engineering and water containment systems.

Extra High Yield Bentonite (EHYB) for non-oilfield applications is

a specially processed, peptized sodium bentonite designed for rapid dispersion and high viscosity in water-based drilling. Ideal for water wells, mineral exploration, and trenchless drilling, it provides superior hole cleaning, borehole stability, and low-permeability filter cake. It is NSF/ANSI/CAN 60 certified for potable water applications and acts as a high-performance, cost-effective viscosifier.

Key Features and Benefits
Rapid Hydration: Fast-mixing, allowing for efficient, high-viscosity fluid preparation.
Borehole Stability: Creates a strong, thin, and flexible filter cake that reduces fluid loss in porous formations.
Improved Hole Cleaning: Provides excellent gel strength for suspension of cuttings, even in large diameter holes.
Eco-Friendly: Non-toxic and safe for environmental and water-sensitive applications.

Typical Applications
Water well drilling
Mineral exploration (coring)
Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD)
Slurry trenching and foundation engineering

Mixing and Handling
Ideal Water Condition: Performs best in fresh water with a pH of 8.0–10.0.
Preparation: Requires high-shear mixing (e.g., in a jet hopper) for maximum yield, typically 5 minutes per sack.
Water Treatment: If using hard water, pre-treat with soda ash to increase pH and maximize hydration.
Not Recommended: Not suitable for high salinity, low pH, or heavily contaminated water environments.
