Claysperse L is a liquid, anionic, synthetic polymer used as a dispersant and thinner for water-based drilling fluids in the mining, oil and gas, and water well industries.
Product Details
Function: Earth Pro Claysperse L primarily enhances the deflocculation of drill solids and thins bentonite (drilling mud), reducing viscosity and gel strengths. It can also be used for wellbore cleanup prior to production and to treat some contaminants in bentonite slurries.
Application: It is most effective in freshwater systems with a mud weight below 1200kg/m³ (10lb/gal). When drilling through sticky clay, a higher concentration can be added to prevent “mud rings” and bit balling.
Physical Properties: It is an amber, slightly viscous liquid with a pH of 7.0-7.5 and is soluble in water.
