Meat and bone meal is supplied as a protein and mineral source in animal feed formulations. Meat and Bone Meal (MBM) is a high-protein (40–55%), nutrient-dense product derived from rendering animal by-products (bones, tissues, fat). It is primarily used as an economical,, digestible protein source in pet food and non-ruminant livestock feed, while lower grades are used for bioenergy, such as in cement kilns, or as organic fertilizer.
