Copper Sulphate CP refers to the Chemically Pure (CP) grade of copper(II) sulphate, most commonly found in its pentahydrate form (CuSO₄·5H₂O) as bright blue crystals.

Grade Meaning: “CP” or “Chemically Pure” is a high-level purity standard suitable for general laboratory, educational, and industrial applications where high precision is required, though it is slightly less refined than AR (Analytical Reagent) grade.
Appearance: Distinctive bright blue or ultramarine crystals, granules, or powder.
Chemical Formula: CuSO₄ · 5H₂O (Pentahydrate).
Solubility: Highly soluble in water (approx. 316 g/L at 0°C). 

Common Uses
Laboratory Reagent: Used in chemical tests, such as Fehling’s solution or Benedict’s solution to detect reducing sugars.
Agriculture & Horticulture: Acts as a potent fungicide, algicide, and herbicide (e.g., in Bordeaux mixture).
